8 Traits of Everyday Greatness Series
Current Teaching Series!

Greatness is not the stuff of ESPN highlight clips. Greatness is not talent or luck. It is not something to be achieved. Nor is it momentary, nor reserved for the highly gifted.

Greatness is a state of heart. Greatness is merit and status granted. Truth based identity. This is Everyday Greatness!

Without Everyday Greatness one accepts life as is, and is victimized by the 'good enough' and 'whatever'.

With Everyday Greatness one produces life and breaks through to realize unimaginable dreams.

The Extraordinary Life: Can I get There from Here?
Getting from Point A to Point B requires we first know where Point A is located. If we want to travel to Janesville, WI but have no idea that we are in Chicago, IL; then we'll have no idea which direction to take, which highway to chose; we'll have no clue as to the best mode of transportation. Should we walk, bicycle, car, or take a plane? Are we able to make it to the destination?

Oftentimes we become like my granddaughter. She was with me in the car the other day. Together we were excitedly going for a treat. We chose to drive. When I asked Madysen, “how do I get there?” Her eager response was, “You just go, Papi.”

Often we “just go”.  We keep busy with many things that give us the impression that something is happening. We have a sense that we are living. Too often we just go through the day, then through the week, then the month, then through many months and years. Our life is spent "just going" in uncertain motion, unclear as to where we are going and unable to determine if we have arrived. In the end we live the ordinary life, not able to make it beyond our own limitations. Yet, it is the Extraordinary life that each of us are called to live!

Living the Extraordinary life requires in addition to asking “Where am I?” we must also ask a more potent question, “Who am I?” Lost time, lost track and lost opportunity are products of lost identity and an ordinary life. The Extraordinary life is a meaningful, purposeful life that counts for now and eternity. It is the real deal. The life every human being longs to live.

Before we define our course, we best define our self. The work of Christ is the defining Source. Through simple faith the transformation of the new nature produces fruitfulness and breakthrough. Now we can prosper and be in health; we can love and be loved. We can live the Extraordinary life.

You get here by faith. And, from here… you can get there!

The Esther in Us.          By Joy Hanson

Lately, God has been speaking to me about the “Spirit of Esther” and what that means to me.

Perhaps you too, have had times in life where you wondered if you had the favor of God on your life. Hardships come and go. They often leave little marks on you that make you feel like Leah, Jacob’s wife. She felt unloved, unfavored. Perhaps she questioned or even complained that life was unfair. She watched her sister Rachel have favor. God blessed Leah in ways that Rachel didn’t receive. Leah’s womb was open.

When we look at Esther we see a strong women going forward with the favor of God. Ultimately in favor with the king, to who she later would be queen. Esther 2:15 says: “And Esther won favor in the sight of all who saw her.” (Amplified) What did they see?

I believe they saw Jesus in her. They saw a women who knew who she was in the type of Christ; daughter of the King, wife of the King! Not like Leah, begging her husband to love her, striving to be accepted. Why, Leah even traded flowers to be loved by her husband. But Esther, now that’s another story.

She boldly went before her God in fasting and prayer. And then before her husband believing that he would accept her and not reject her. You see, God is calling people who know their God and are known by Him to rise up and lay it all on the line. Who boldly go forward knowing who they are.

2Timothy1:12 “I am not ashamed because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.”

Do you know who you believe in? When Esther went before the King he was willing to give her what she needed, even half of his Kingdom even before she spoke. Now that is God’s favor. That is favor with Kings in high places. And from that many lives where saved.

So today, I call forth the spirit of Esther that is in you! That all who see you would take notice of you and show you favor because they see Jesus in you. Know without doubt who you believe; and believe who you are the Daughter of the most High King.

It was...It is...It will be...

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity; it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair; we had everything before us, we had nothing before us; we were all going directly to Heaven, we were all going the other way."

This quote from Charles Dickens’ famous work, “The Tale of Two Cities” seems as though it could have been pulled from today’s headlines. <Read Entire Article>
